Start with a tortilla, slather on guacamole, throw some seasoned rice on top, followed by sauteed red pepper and onion, and top with cheese. Leave in sunset to melt cheese in the company of a Tecate and good friend. Grade: A(posted by contributing cook)

ReplyDeleteVery dramatic picture. Note the subtle but entirely intentional lens flare just off of center as the sun sets over the horizon yet burns though the great oaks, virtually whispering to our viewers, "it is okay, the day is leaving, but the day is still here...the day is now" If you look carefully, you can notice how photographer Ben Newman strategically used angles to his advantage, allowing the sun's light to bounce off of the peripheral brick wall and ultimately reflect, illuminate, and essentially highlight the foreground in an accented fashion (which in this case just so happens to be the tumbling dressings on Spanish tortilla 1 of 2). Again, another remarkable work that moves us one step forward into Newman's minimalist-meets-traditionalist world via his camera's lens. Simply brilliant.
